About the ALA Application The ALA application process seeks exceptional young people who demonstrate leadership potential, intellectual curiosity, creativity, resilience, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact. Applicants are encouraged to share their personal journeys, achievements, leadership experiences, challenges they have overcome, and their vision for contributing to Africa’s future. ALA believes leadership is not defined only by titles or positions. Eligibility
Age Requirement
Applicants must have been born on or after 1 September 2007 for the ALA Class of 2027.

Demonstrated leadership through school, community initiatives, entrepreneurship, volunteering, or other forms of impact.
